About Waymar General Contracting

For years, Wayne Atkins, owner and founder of Waymar General Contracting, worked for other general contracting businesses. However, it wasn’t until 1995 when he decided it was time to establish his company, which he turned into a premier full-service general contracting company.

Atkins knows what hard work and dedication are all about, especially because of his service to our country. He enlisted in the US Navy in October 1985, and in August 1986, he started his Navy training, right after he graduated high school. After 3 years of service, he was honorably discharged from the US Navy. From there he went on to pursue a career in the construction field. It was there where he found his calling, his passion. He worked for various general roofing companies throughout his career, and he was even ambitious enough to seek out more work from other contractors in surrounding towns and counties. In May 1995, he founded Waymar General Contracting.

Today, Atkins and his crew serve the Southern Tier, Wellsville, and Hornell, NY residents as a trusted team of home remodeling, roofing and siding contractors. From roofing to drywall removal and installation to remodeling, siding, and many more services, the Waymar General Contracting name has become a staple in the community. Give us a call to see how we can help you!

Waymar General Contracting is also a proud member of the Better Business Bureau (BBB).

Our Roofing Contractor Has Received Multiple Awards and Accomplishments

While working for a local roofing company, Atkins entered into The Fastest Roofer Contest held at B&L Wholesale, Inc., in Buffalo, NY. With two different competing categories, hand nailing and nail gun, Atkins competed in the hand nailing contest and took first place. These competitions were based on speed and accuracy.

Since that time, Atkins continued to participate in the contest as long as it was run, sometimes in both categories, always bringing home a first, second, or third place trophy. He also competed in another competition held at Bradco Supply in Rochester, NY, on behalf of the North Eastern Roofing Contractors Association (NERCA). He won the New York State title and moved onto the Providence, RI convention center to compete for the Northeast title. Atkins went home as the third place winner.
